Dauphin HumanDesign Group GmbH & Co. KG is one of the companies which come under the umbrella of “Dauphin Office Interiors GmbH & Co. KG” – the Dauphin holding company which has its headquarters in Offenhausen near Nuremberg. With 22 sales and production companies in Germany and abroad as well as numerous licensees and representatives in 65 countries, the Dauphin group is one of the leading manufacturers of office furniture in Europe. The family-run company has 715 members of staff throughout the world and achieved a turnover of 125,0 million euros in 2010. Over 2,100 chairs are currently produced every day in the group’s own production facilities throughout the world. On average, 1,600 of these chairs are produced in Offenhausen in Middle Franconia.
The group is optimally positioned in the market, with a range of products which is both broad and deep at the same time. This range includes intelligent room-structuring and furniture systems from the Bosse brand, ergonomic and design-oriented office chairs and seating from the Dauphin brand, exclusive conference and lounge furniture from the Swiss brand Züco and the modern design and proven ergonomics of the attractively-priced Trendoffice brand. As an experienced complete supplier, the DHDG offers versatile solutions, with seating and furniture for use in public areas as well as industrial chairs. Dauphin, the group’s core brand, in particular has been regarded for decades as an undisputed, versatile trendsetter when it comes to ergonomics and design.
To complement its office and facility business, the Dauphin Group entered the home furniture market in 2010. Selected Bosse and Züco ranges have been expanded specially for this purpose. Under the “Dauphin Home” brand name, the DHDG now offers timelessly modern, versatile yet unobtrusive home furniture which caters for all needs.
Having set up its own sales companies in Australia, Great Britain, France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, Dauphin has established an international presence. Numerous other countries are covered either by local licensees or country representatives (distributors). In addition to the production sites in Germany, the company also operates its own production facilities in the USA and Switzerland. Fully owned by the holding company, they manufacture a range of selected products. The group also holds a stake in a licensee in South Africa.
Dauphin has a traditionally strong position in Germany. Exports account for around 40 percent of consolidated total turnover (2010).
As part of a deliberate policy of internationalisation, the group is further consolidating the international position of its various brands in European countries and overseas.
