The Dauphin HumanDesign Group has supplied over 10,000 chairs for the head offices, branches and customer service offices of the HUK-COBURG insurance group.

Offenhausen – August 2011. Established in 1933 with the aim of providing inexpensive vehicle insurance for priests, HUK (“Haftpflicht-Unterstützungs-Kasse kraftfahrender Beamter Deutschlands e.V.”) has become a leading general insurer for private households in recent decades. Nowadays, the group is made up of five loss and accident insurance companies, two life assurance companies, two health insurance companies, a building society and a service firm. According to figures provided by the company, it now serves over nine million private customers.

Given the importance of a healthy, dynamic posture when working, the company requires a suitably large number of ergonomic chairs for its many staff. Since 2002, the Dauphin HumanDesign Group (DHDG) has supplied over 10,000 health-promoting visitor, work, meeting and conference chairs for HUK’s two head offices as well as numerous branches and customer service offices.

“We usually supply the chairs in stages,” said Wolfgang Sontag, the DHDG representative responsible for HUK. “During renovation work, half of the offices on a floor are normally cleared before the furniture is replaced. We supply on average 50 chairs for this purpose.”

While Dauphin’s “Shape economy” model has been successfully used in staff offices for many years, “Conte” from the DHDG’s Züco brand was chosen for the numerous training rooms.
